Selected research from my postdoc at Arizona State University
Each page describes motivation and methods, and embeds either an interactive map or a representative figure from the underlying analysis. Where a published paper exists, the citation is linked inline; where work is still in review or a tool is under construction, the page says so.
Continental-scale soil organic carbon — CONUS
Legacy-data harmonization with spatially resolved temporal slopes, ensemble ML for current and attainable SOC stocks, and a reliability framework for soil-carbon mapping. Built around three papers from 2025–2026 (Scientific Reports, Geoderma, European Journal of Soil Science).
Attainable evapotranspiration — Arizona
A peer-conditioned ET benchmark for Arizona’s irrigated agriculture, integrating OpenET, Sentinel-2, PRISM, NRCS soils, and USDA yields. Identifies 300k–460k acre-feet of annual reduction potential across six Active Management Areas.
Ensemble streamflow forecasting
Diverse-loss LSTM ensemble across 482 CAMELS catchments — eight loss specialists combined via Linear Stacking deliver calibrated 1- to 30-day forecasts with uncertainty intervals. Published in Applied Soft Computing, 2026.
Heatwave projections — US cities
Composite heatwave-stress projections under SSP2-4.5 and SSP5-8.5 for the 50 most populous US cities, treating daytime and nighttime extremes separately and overlaying gridded population projections. Published in Scientific Reports, 2025.
Other work in progress
CNN with transfer learning for SOC and plant-available-water in data-sparse regions; soil pH baselines, trends, and time-to-critical-crop-risk across CONUS; collaborations on European and Irish soil datasets. Pages will be added as work is published.
